What is a Quartz Doublet Stone?
A quartz doublet is a type of composite gemstone made by fusing a clear layer of quartz over another material — (usually natural, but sometimes synthetic stone)
In jewelry, this technique is used to:
Enhance color and depth: The quartz top acts like a magnifying lens, making the color beneath appear more vibrant.
Add durability: Quartz is hard and scratch-resistant, protecting the softer material underneath.
Create consistency: Doublets allow jewelers to achieve a uniform look, especially when natural stones are rare or vary too much in color.
In short, a quartz doublet gives you the beauty of the original stone with extra brilliance and strength — a clever fusion of art and science in gem crafting.
About those Copper colors
Below we show our Pop Rocks Synergy Meander Border Ring by Gerochristo in the available Copper colors. The Copper adds an eye-catching detail, while being unique to only you—Each stone pattern is different, so you will receive a variation of copper deposit with the color you choose. The copper detail will be more prominent with larger stones. The Azurite Malachite is similar with widely varying patterns.
About Azurite-Malachite 💙💚
Our customers' most popular choice! This striking stone is a natural fusion of deep blue azurite and lush green malachite — two copper-based minerals that often grow together in breathtaking patterns. Its swirling colors have long symbolized balance, transformation, and creative energy—And of course remind most folks of Greek seas.
Because high-quality natural Azurite-Malachite in doublet form (sliced and layered for your jewelry) has become extremely inconsistent to source, we currently offer a synthetic option that mirrors the beauty, color, and texture of the natural stone — allowing for the same vivid look and long-lasting durability in each handcrafted piece.

How true are the stone colors depicted?
We do our best to showcase the all of our gemstones in true lighting, meaning we never add post-production enhancements to the stones—in color or natural veins. Natural and multi-color stones will always vary from stone to stone, like the specs in Lapis, blue/green variations in Azurite Malachite, and options with copper.
As with anything you wear or buy, things will look different in outside sunny light versus indoor light, versus low light cocktail hours. Different viewing screens will show slightly different color from one another.
Consider the stone setting—Smaller ring settings may appear darker since they are not attracting as much light. Larger stones will of course attract more light and show off more detail in the copper or Azurite Malachite options.
How do I care for Quartz Doublet stones?
Doublets are composite handcrafted stones that require special care. Avoid solvent cleaning solutions and long wear in water. The anti-tarnish cloth we sell here in our store is totally safe to use on silver and gold adorned with Quartz Doublets.
