Mythical Note
“Χέλυς” | “Chelys”
According to the myth (Homeric Hymn to Hermes), Hermes made the first lyre using the shell of a tortoise (hence the name ''Chelys'' derived from the Greek word for tortoise), arms made of wild goat horns, and strings made of ox gut. When Apollo complained to Zeus about the theft of his oxen by Hermes, the latter offered the lyre to Apollo as a gift of reconciliation. Apollo was enchanted by its mesmerizing sound.

The lyre as a symbol was closely associated with the cult of Apollo and can be described as the national instrument of the ancient Greeks. Due to the simplicity of its construction and the quality of its sound, it served as the primary instrument of the education of the young.

Stilvi

At the end of the day we believe in art, and when we see a designer making a genuine effort to explore a new style of their own invention (and it's good!) we get a little weak in the knees. Stilvi brings a personal touch to contemporary jewelry, drawing on Greek history and mythology with symbolic motifs such as the olive tree, spiral, and meander.
