Chi Rho

The symbol is simply the Greek letters chi (X) and rho (P) signifying the first two letters of the Greek word for Christ; "χριστός". 

The Chi-Rho is one of the earliest symbols of Christianity. Its story is tied to Emperor Constantine in the 4th century CE. On the eve of battle, Constantine is said to have seen a vision of the symbol in the sky with the words “In this sign, conquer.” He adopted it as his standard, painting it on soldiers’ shields, and went on to secure victory.

From that moment, the Chi-Rho became both a spiritual emblem and a mark of triumph. In art and jewelry, it represents not only faith in Christ but also strength, protection, and the fusion of belief with history.
