What gold metal type are Al'Oro earrings?
The Al'Oro workshop crafts earrings in solid 14k or 18k gold, often with natural gemstones. Each listing will have the metal type clearly marked. These are all fine jewelry pieces for customers who want heirloom-quality Greek earrings in a high-quality, lasting gold.
Will this workshop change the gemstones?
Yes, Al'Oro can source most stones to your liking including Diamonds in place of Zircon (for an upgrade charge). Any Zircon noted can have color options. This is one of the benefits of made-to-order jewelry. Some stones may be limited by availability, size, or shape, and a gemstone change may affect the final price. Chat with us below about your color or stone preference.
Can Al'Oro customize a pair of earrings?
The only custom options for this workshop are with gemstone changes and changing 14k to 18k or vice versa on select styles.
Are those white earrings made in platinum or white gold?
Al'Oro earrings are not made in platinum. This workshop crafts in 14k or 18k gold, available in three gold colors: yellow gold, rose gold, and white gold. So if a design has a bright white metal look, it is white gold rather than platinum.
How do I know if earrings are too heavy for me?
A few tips: If earrings pull on the earlobe, feel uncomfortable after a short time, or make the piercing stretch downward, they may be too heavy for regular wear. That said, long earrings do not always have to be heavy.
Not sure if an earring will feel heavy?
Think of it this way: 1 gram is about a paper clip, 3–4 grams is about a sugar packet, and 5 grams is about a US nickel. Lightweight earrings are usually under 3 grams each, everyday comfortable earrings often sit around 3–6 grams, and larger statement earrings may be 8 grams or more. Design makes a big difference, too — a well-balanced earring can feel easier to wear than the number alone suggests.
We are updating our weights which can be found in the "Size and Materials" section of each listing, but you can also chat with us below to ask if the pair would be considered heavy or not.
What earrings are best for sensitive ears?
All of our metals are hypoallergenic. Gold in general is not considered a common allergy metal. You're in the right place if you have sensitive ears!
How should I care for 18k gold earrings?
Solid gold earrings should be stored separately in a dry place and gently wiped after wearing to remove oils, lotions, or everyday buildup. Avoid harsh chemicals, chlorine, perfume, and abrasive cleaners, especially if the earrings include gemstones or delicate details. For routine cleaning, our Anti-Tarnish Silver Polishing Buff Cloth is safe on gold. Handle the earrings by the metal rather than pulling on stones, or fine design elements.
