Gemstone/Doublet Color Choices

What are "Pop Rocks" ?

“Pop Rocks” is the nickname we gave to all the Gerochristo pieces that use Quartz Doublet stones. A doublet is when they take a thin layer of a stone like Ruby or Amethyst and fuse it to a big clear piece of quartz—and the effect looks like a very large, very bright ruby (or amethyst or aquamarine or whatever the base stone was). We call them “Pop Rocks” because they are (technically speaking) “rocks” and because they POP (visually), plus that was one of our favorite candies as kids!

About those Copper colors

Below we show our Pop Rocks Synergy Meander Border Ring by Gerochristo in the available Copper colors. The Copper adds an eye-catching detail, while being unique to only you—Each stone pattern is different, so you will receive a variation of copper deposit with the color you choose. The copper detail will be more prominent with larger stones. The Azurite Malachite is similar with widely varying patterns.

How true are the stone colors depicted?

We do our best to showcase the all of our gemstones in true lighting, meaning we never add post-production enhancements to the stones—in color or natural veins. Natural stones will always vary from stone to stone, especially in multi-colored stones like Azurite Malachite and options with copper.

As with anything you wear or buy, things will look different in outside sunny light versus indoor light, versus low light cocktail hours. Different viewing screens will show slightly different color from one another. Also consider the stone setting—Smaller ring settings may appear darker since they are not attracting as much light. Larger stones will of course attract more light and show off more detail in the copper or Azurite Malachite options.
